ArgentWolf Hashtag Inserter
A GPL-licensed WordPress plugin that renders WordPress post tags as a social-media-friendly hashtag line.
Behavior
Given WordPress tags:
tag1tag2tag3
The plugin renders:
#tag1 #tag2 #tag3
The Gutenberg block is dynamic: it stores a block marker, not a copied hashtag string. Editing the WordPress tags therefore updates the rendered hashtag line automatically.
The block is position-neutral and may be placed anywhere in a post. New editor insertions default to after the first top-level paragraph, with end-of-post insertion also available. Optional automatic insertion uses the same after-first-paragraph default and never repositions an existing block.
The editor also provides a one-click Copy hashtags action in both the hashtag block preview and the Hashtag Inserter sidebar, copying the exact live generated hashtag line for manual social sharing.
Development workflow
developis the integration branch.- Feature work is expected to land through feature branches and be fast-forward integrated after gates pass.
mainis reserved for release-ready history.- Tags matching
v*build release artifacts in Forgejo Actions. - Do not commit generated
dist/output.
Run local gates:
composer install
composer validate --strict
composer lint
composer phpcs
bash scripts/build-release.sh
bash scripts/verify-package.sh dist/argentwolf-hashtag-inserter-0.1.0.zip
WordPress Plugin Check remains an additional release gate and is not treated as a substitute for code review.
Initial Forgejo push
Create an empty Forgejo repository named wp-argentwolf-hashtag-inserter (do not pre-create a README, license, or .gitignore), then run:
bash scripts/forgejo-init.sh git@forgejo.argentwolf.org:OWNER/wp-argentwolf-hashtag-inserter.git
The helper refuses to push until Composer validation, PHP syntax checks, WPCS/PHPCompatibility, the local behavior tests, release packaging, and checksum verification pass. For the initial import it creates and retains feature/initial-plugin, then fast-forwards develop to that tested commit before pushing both branches.
